1. Purchase a fuel-efficient or hybrid car

3. Avoid disposable products where possible

6. Unplug appliances that are not used often. Off does not always mean not using energy, digital clocks and power lights all use electricity
7. Pass along informative, interesting and smart environment news stories to the people that you know
8. Car pool, use a bike or take public transportation
9. Purchase some pesticide free and/or organically grown food
10. Don’t waste electricity - turn of lights and appliances that do not need to be on
11. Think about paper - print what’s necessary, re-use old paper and print double-sided
12. Turn off the tap: do not let the water run while you brush your teeth, shave or wash dishes
13. Invest in environmentally friendly companies
14. Support conservation societies and national parks
15. Take yourself off of junkmail lists
16. Replace incandescent light bulbs with fluorescent ones
17. Make a neighborhood - live near work, school and where you shop
18. Think of how your workplace can reduce it’s energy use and if you can speak up about it
