Eastwood also directs the film in which he plays Walt Kowalski, an iron-willed veteran living in a changing world, who is forced by his immigrant neighbors to confront his own long-held prejudices.

It is after Earth Day and that means that you should still care about sustainability and being more efficient. To that end, I recommend viewing this Good Magazine produced video that illuminates how many of our electric appliances and devices suck electricity, even when they are turned off.

About the film:

This short video artwork explores three different relationships to secrets: hiding, destroying and revealing. Through images of hands interacting with a tiny envelope containing a secret, the video examines what we do with our secrets and what they do to us. Which has more power: the keeper of the secret or the secret itself? To reinforce this theme, the visual perspective vacillates between that of the \”secret keeper\” and the secret. In one moment the viewer watches hands cup around the envelope; in the next, those same hands seem to be enveloping the viewer, turning them into the secret. Ultimately, who is hiding whom? Who is destroying whom? Who is revealing whom?

Peter Elkas is an amazing Canadian singer/songwriter. I had the chance to catch him in concert last week and was totally taken by his music. ‘Sweet Nancy’ is the lead single from his new album Wall of Fire, which I can’t get enough of. Wall of Fire is the perfect soundtrack to a weekend morning where you sleep, have some coffee and pancakes with someone that you love.

Did your Valentine’s Day not go quite according to plan or turn out as you would have liked? Perhaps you can take some solace in the song entitled ‘A Kiss is not a Contract’ by the New Zealand comedy duo and HBO television stars the Flight of the Conchords.

While were on the topic of Woody Allen films, here is one of the most truly memorable scenes (for me at least) in film history – Marshall McLuhan’s appearance in Annie Hall.

A classic track from Kraftwerk’s album the Man-Machine. Given that this video was made around 1978 (that’s when the album was released, but I’m not sure about the video), it is quite stylishly advanced. Although, this is not surprising as Kraftwork have always been cutting edge.

New for 2009 is the Hummer H3T – it’s a pickup truck. Necessary? That is questionable. Given that pickups appeal to a big, but select market, will a small pickup with a Hummer face appeal to truck buyers? Will the pickup capabilities appeal to Hummer fans? Probably not with these looks. Something to watch for.
